Comparing the 2021 INFINITI QX50 vs. BMW X3 vs. Acura RDX vs Lexus RS350

INFINITI QX50 vs. BMW X3

As you do a search, you’ll see quite a few models in competition for the luxury SUV market. Each one brings the basics that you expect for this segment, but some stand out from the crowd. Four of the top models in this category are the 2021 INFINITI QX50, the BMW X3, the Acura RDX, and Lexus RS350. While all may meet your standards, you’ll want to compare them to see which gives you something extra.

Practicality

One of the best aspects of the 2021 INFINITI QX50 is its affordability. With a lower starting price than the other models at under $38,000, this SUV provides a little luxury for a wider audience – even those on a budget. Adding to this practical benefit is the cost of fuel. Once again, the INFINITI wins out at 29 mpg for highway driving and 23 mpg in the city. Bring along more stuff with a split-bench rear seat while the other models are limited to a traditional bench.

Technology

All four models come with advanced technology to appeal to modern drivers. Each one includes Bluetooth as standard with a multimedia system for information and entertainment. However, the 2021 INFINITI QX5 includes three LCD monitors as opposed to two for the other models. The INFINITI also includes rear parking sensors as standard across the trim levels while Lexus and Acura provide it as an option.

Safety

Safety is first priority for all four manufacturers as evident in the systems of these models. All four include airbags and vehicle dynamic control with traction control. While the Acura doesn’t include blind spot warning on the base trim, the other three models do. Only the 2021 INFINITI QX50 has predictive brake assist for the base trim to help you stop when you need to and avoid an accident. Know that you’re protected with quality warranties for all four models, but the INFINITI takes it up a notch with a basic warranty for 60,000 miles over the 50,000 miles of the other three models.

Comfort

All four models are similar in size with the 2021 INFINITI QX50 being slightly easier to maneuver with a shorter turning radius. Inside the cabin is where this model really shines through. Enjoy more room for people and their stuff with the most cargo volume of the four. In fact, the INFINITI almost doubles cargo volume at 31.4 cubic feet over the Lexus at 16 cubic feet. Fold down the seats and the differences are even greater at 65.1 cubic feet for the QX50 as opposed to 32.6 for the Lexus. Passengers won’t feel cramped in the rear seat with nearly 39 inches of legroom and about the same for headroom.
