Fresh off a 2018 refresh, the 2019 QX80 added a new trim level to the top of the lineup: the QX80 Limited. It said the SUV would come standard with all-wheel drive and a range of driver-assistance features, but also included special decals inside and out and more upscale materials throughout the cabin. Hallmarks of the new trim level included open-pore wood, faux-suade and two-tone paint. Every model also got pedestrian detection and automated emergency braking.
In 2020, the QX80 upgraded its infotainment system, featuring a stacked display in the center of the console. This is the first year Apple CarPlay and Android Auto came standard. INFINITI also added a range of standard driver-assistance tech in 2020, with features like lane-departure warnings, blind-spot monitoring, and rear automated braking.
2021 saw the QX80 shuffle trim levels into a more familiar pattern, with three options: the Luxe, Premium Select, and Sensory. The QX80 also added standard driver-assistance features, most notably adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance. As the top model in the lineup, the Sensory came equipped with a range of features, including hydraulic suspension and quilted semi-aniline leather seats.
For the 2nd time in 3 years, INFINITI revisited its infotainment system, offering a new take on the infotainment stack with a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay. The screen below it is used for A/C controls that look better than the outgoing system. Up front, the 2022, QX80 added a wireless phone charger.
2023 didn’t see as many dramatic changes to the technology or trim levels, but it marked the addition of Amazon Alexa to the cabin, offering a familiar voice assistant to control it.
With a new generation in the works, 2024 marks the end of this era for the QX80, and it doesn’t offer many changes. A Dark Chrome appearance package was made available, giving the SUV a more mysterious look with dark-chrome features across the exterior.
After several years without a visual update, the QX80 delivered a stunner in 2025, swapping the old design for the Monograph concept, giving it a monolithic new look that quickly became a favorite. Everything about the QX80 was upgraded, from the new twin-turbo V-6 to the sleek new display setup, boasting three massive units across the front of the cabin. The interior gets plenty of love too, with a new, clean design loaded with premium amenities and materials.
