2022 INFINITI QX60 Reviews & Technology
What’s New For 2022?
The INFINITI QX60 is all-new for 2022, with added luxuries and features designed to win buyers looking for a mid-sized SUV with three-row seating. The look is a dramatic departure from past models, with the interior seeing much more than the minor facelifts of past iterations. The 2022 QX60 is a new platform that is all in with significant changes to capture a greater market share from other luxury SUVs.
The Performance Package
The 295 horsepower DOHC 24-valve V-6 engine with aluminum block and heads is a carryover from the 2020 model. However, the continuously variable automatic transmission has been replaced with a more desirable 9-speed automatic. The top end of the QX60 SUV is a more than ample 120 miles per hour, with the zero to 60 time coming in at 6.6 to 6.7 seconds. Buyers also have the option to select an all-wheel-drive option rather than the standard front-wheel drive offering. One of the more notable improvements for anyone towing with the 2022 QX60 is that the capacity increased from 5,000 pounds to a more robust 6,000 pounds for added function.
The New Interior
The three-row seating configuration still provides ample space for up to seven. However, if you select the upgraded Autograph edition, the second row includes two captain’s chairs, dropping the seating capacity to six. The entire cabin benefits from upgraded sound damping for a more peaceful and serene ride. Both front seats now offer eight-way power-adjustable seats and optional ventilation and massage features. The rear seats have been upgraded to provide optional heating. The Sensory trim package includes many of the newest and most luxurious features, including the massaging seats, air purification system, motion-activated power life gate, and the wireless phone charging pad.
Catching Up On Tech
The new QX60 is proudly offering a new 12.3-inch touchscreen for infotainment. It is a much-needed upgrade from the archaic dual-screen setup of past models. Buyers can also opt to have a second 12.3-inch screen for the digital gauge display and a 10.8-inch heads-up display. In addition, all QX60s will include onboard Wi-Fi, and there is an optional Bose premium sound system offered that includes 17 speakers.
Safety Features
The 2022 QX60 includes an impressive array of safety features, including:
- Forward collision warning with automated emergency braking
- Lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
- Adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode
At this time, there are no results available for added safety testing from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The Warranty
The impressive feather in the cap of the INFINITI line is that it offers a powertrain warranty of 6 years or 70,000 miles which exceeds the competition’s warranty by a year. The limited warranty provides 4 years or 60,000 miles of coverage.
